Family Support Groups
Creating a safe and welcoming space for families, caregivers, and loved ones to connect and find support.
Families are the heart of our mission. The Dynamic Cares Family Support Groups bring caregivers together to share experiences, gain emotional support, and learn strategies that make daily life easier and more joyful.
Who It Is For
Our Family Support Groups are open to parents, siblings, extended family members, and caregivers of children and adults with disabilities. Everyone is welcome, whether you are new to caregiving or have been supporting a loved one for years.
What Happens During a Meeting
Each meeting includes a mix of conversation, reflection, and learning. Families share experiences in a safe, nonjudgmental environment and explore helpful topics such as:
- Managing stress, burnout, and self-care for caregivers
- Navigating school systems and therapy services
- Supporting communication and behavior at home
- Building healthy routines and promoting independence for loved ones
- Accessing local and online community resources
- Celebrating milestones and progress together
Guest speakers, such as educators, therapists, and advocates, often join to offer new perspectives and practical advice.
What You Will Gain
You will leave each session feeling supported, informed, and encouraged. Families often form lasting friendships and find comfort knowing they are not alone in their journey. Each meeting provides new tools, helpful resources, and a community that truly understands.
Format and Accessibility
Groups meet every other week in community centers and online. Meetings last between 60 and 90 minutes and always include time for questions, sharing, and relaxation. All sessions provide closed captioning, written recaps, and accessible materials.
Cost and Registration
All Family Support Groups are free to attend. Registration is simple and can be completed online or by email. Families can join at any time throughout the year.
Facilitators
Meetings are led by trained facilitators with backgrounds in family counseling, special education, or community advocacy. Every facilitator ensures that each session remains respectful, inclusive, and supportive.
